A Movie Packed with Action

We've been busy casting for our most recent film project. We put casting calls up at mandy.com and nycastings.com...

It's interesting when we get submissions from people who say they saw our casting call on other sites (sites where we didn't submit our casting call).

One email sent to us had this in the subject line:
"RE: Action-Packed Feature Film "Under Jakob's Ladder" Wants You!"
Obviously the actor was responding to an email sent to his inbox, right? The weird thing is the description: "action-packed". Hmmm... Okay, we'd like to think of our film as action-packed, but probably not on the same level as movies that rely on high-speed car chases and giant explosions.

(First of all, we don't have the money for super-duper special effects! And secondly, those things are really not what our movie is all about. Under Jakob's Ladder is set in a prison camp in the Soviet Union in 1940. It's character-driven.)

But after that email, we began to see a pattern in some of the submissions we've been receiving. A couple of headshots of actors posing with machine guns or who look like they'd be perfect for a movie featuring the adventures of a motorcyle gang.

These guys and gals must have been misled by that "action-packed" description from some renogade casting notice!
